I became fascinated with communication through publishing and the graphic arts and then attended the Rhode Island School of Design, where I received my BFA–majoring in illustration, and minoring in graphic design and photography. After RISD, during the early days of the dot com craze, I found myself as the Art Director and creative lead of a website called, a company rooted in constructionist learning for kids. The company won numerous honors, including: the Computerworld -Smithsonian Award, the Internet industry's coveted Global Information Infrastructure Award, and the 21st-Century Achievement Award from the Computerworld Honors Program. After MaMaMedia I started working as a design consultant for various publishing and advertising companies, and many of the projects were focused on kids, education, science and also consumer products. Some clients, and work on behalf of brands, include: Scholastic Inc., WebMd, Schlumberger SEED, DK publishing, P&G, Aveda, American Museum of Natural History, Olympus.
